We received a presentation January 16, 2020, on National Alliance on Mental Illness of San Joaquin County (NAMI SJC) from John Weston member of the their board.  John was presented with a check for $250 to NAMI SJ CO to assist them with their effort to educate people about mental illness.

NAMI provides personal and mutual support for families and individuals living with a mental illness, including information and referral services. It assists families and individuals with coping and survival skills.

There are no fees for any of our support groups or classes.

Membership in NAMI is encouraged, but is not a requirement for participation.

The NAMI Family Support group meets on a regular basis in Stockton, Lodi, Tracy and Manteca. See our website for locations, days and times.

The Family-to-Family class is a 12-week course for families and friends of the mentally ill. Each class is 2 1/2 hours in length. The course covers mental illness (the major mental diseases), medication, coping skills and family emotional support. This course is also available is Spanish.


Peer-to-Peer class is an 8-week education course for consumers of mental health in the community. In addition, IOOV “In Our Own Voice” presentations are available for consumers, mental health staff and others in the community. This course is also available in Spanish.

The NAMI Provider Education Program offers 15 hours of in-service training, taught by a trained five-member team of family members, individuals living with mental illness and a mental health provider.

NAMI Basics is a 6-week, peer-directed education program developed specifically for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness/serious emotional disturbance or who are experiencing symptoms but have not yet been diagnosed.

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups meet in Stockton, Lodi, Manteca and Tracy. See the website for days, times and locations. The group meets for 90 minutes and is open to all adults with mental health challenges, with or without a diagnosis. There are no fees.
